Ian is a corporate finance specialist; his expertise includes advising shareholders on transaction plans, sourcing funding and planning shareholder restructuring. He has specialist experience in logistics, healthcare, technology and business services.

Specialist expertise

Ian leads Quantuma’s corporate finance team. Over the last 25 years his work has focused on advising shareholders on merger and acquisition plans, sourcing funding and planning shareholder restructuring. Whether the shareholder objective is investing for growth, or planning an exit, Ian supports them through all the complexities of a transaction to ensure he delivers shareholder value.

In recent years, Ian has advised on numerous significant transactions including: the sales of Pareto Facilities Management, Launch Diagnostics and Climb Online (winner of 2013 ‘The Apprentice’). He has also advised an many acquisitions/MBO’s and buy and builds including: Cosegic, e-trading software and a series of strategic acquisitions for Whistl in the logistics sector.

Ian is a qualified chartered accountant and holder of the corporate finance qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Prior to joining Quantuma, he was a partner leading the corporate finance business of a Big Four accountancy firm in the South East. His previous role was with  a boutique firm where he re-established their lead advisory business and was awarded 'Corporate Financier of the Year' in 2014 and 'Dealmaker of the Year' in 2016 at the Thames Valley Deal Awards. Ian has been a lead adviser on ‘Deal of the Year’ several times in the last decade.

About Ian

Ian lives in Ascot with his wife and two daughters. He is a keen Manchester City fan who remembers watching at Maine Road in the dark days of the 1980’s/1990’s before the current glories. He enjoys most sports, although this mainly involves watching them now. His claim to fame was being runner-up in TV quiz ‘Test the Nation’ in the 2004 series, but he has since retired to concentrate on social pub quizzes instead!
